Top performers need physical and mental fitness
There is nothing new in the idea that the mind plays a huge part in sporting performance - yet many elite performers still pay less attention to the state of their mind than to their physique. Why is this?
Maybe they think that mental preparation doesn't really matter - yet there is plenty of evidence that the best performance is achieved when mind, body and emotions are working together. And as the margins between success and failure get ever slimmer, why would anyone ignore correct preparation in such a key area?
Simple and straightforward
Many professionals offering help with mental preparation make it complicated. I don't do this - my techniques are simple and straightforward. You won't have to spend weeks going through difficult and unpleasant sessions - you will get an improvement in your performance very quickly.
It has also become fashionable for large clubs and teams to add a sports psychologist to their payroll. So some coaches and sports scientists have 'bolted-on' a sports psychology qualification, to fall in line. I haven't done that - I've come to working with top sports performers from a background in clinically training the mind, and how it affects what people do. I am an expert in my field, just as you are in yours.
