How I Work (3) - The Permanent Fix
The final stage involves changing what you do and how you do it - permanently.
I use whatever techniques are appropriate to help you remove the obstacles you are putting in your way. I choose from an array of solutions and show you how to use them. A lot of the work is done away from the performance arena - talking in detail about how you feel, how you move and how your mind and body come together. I show you how to repattern your performance - to give you a new blueprint.
Everyone is different and has different issues to overcome - so there is no fixed programme for me to tell you about here.
Some techniques have obvious physical effects - I can improve your endurance by removing the sensation of the 'burn'. I can help you retrain your muscles, so that the way you move and work is improved.
How long will it take before you see an improvement? - well, it depends on the individual, but most clients are genuinely surprised at how quickly they make significant progress.
I don't call myself a sports psychologist, but I use many of the techniques that people calling themselves 'sports psychologists' also use. I help people get their mind and body in shape for peak performance - the name isn't that important.
